This is a really great place to walk/hike and see all sorts of natural beauty. There is small parking lot, but the park does have several entrances, so you could probably park at one of those if its full. I started at the Aviary and saw four different types of birds (very cute) and got some info from one of the caretakers which was nice. The staff inside the main building were all very friendly and kind, and even allowed me to sit in last minute for a talk about one of the owls (Tilly). There are turtles, snakes, "an indoor for the winter" bird and small lizard (I think). The inside is basically a mini nature museum and would be a great place to bring children. They so have childrens events as well As for the hiking, there are several loops to hike, some easier than others but all generally mild IMO (there were lots of families with small children hiking). Despite the amount of people it was very quiet and relaxing. There is also a playground and picnic area. There are bathrooms in the main building but the ones in the playground/picnic area are closed for the season per the sign. There are no dogs, or bikes allowed on the trail. Overall an excellent experience and I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

Tranquil pond with a max depth of about 6 ft. Benches adjacent to pond to relax, though fishing and netting are prohibited. There is also a quaint nature center with some turtles and frogs, and a public bathroom, when it’s open. The surrounding woods contain about half a dozen well-marked trail loops. The trails are all between about 0.5 miles and about 2 miles, and provide very casual hikes. There is also a trail connecting the nature center to Allison Park for those who prefer a destination hike. You will find a wooden box at the trailhead meant to contain trail maps, though it is usually empty. But there is strong cellphone reception throughout, and Google Maps should be more than sufficient as a guide. Dogs are permitted on the trails on a leash. There is a free small parking lot on premise that fills up quickly on nice days. If you are driving be mindful to go slowly over the grating at the entranceway gate. This helps to monitor and contain wildlife but it can be very harsh on cars.

My favorite place for local hiking and nature. If your looking for a way to get out with the kids for some exercise and environmental education. The main building. There is a gazebo. There are a few trails with different difficulties. One leading down to the play areas, another leading up and around to the waterfall and a difficult one. Expect probably 40 min to 2 hours depending. Great lookouts.

Love this place. Access from Summit, Jones also nice. All season. Nice trekking markers not too far apart. Appreciate many taking care. Soul healing, peace in mind. Owls & hawks in aviary also hidden gem.

The tiny owl at the center has my heart. I revisit these beautiful birds from time to time. Nice place for a hike.

Nice nature trail. Nature center is well maintained. There are some small exhibits, live tortoise and snake terrariums. There are few picnic tables right outside the nature center. Parking is limited. There are various trails, mostly easy for kids as well. The pond has a lot of tortoises, small fish, tadpoles and frogs. Fishing not allowed in the pond. You can see variety of brirds along the trail. Overall nice place for a trail.

It's a great park for a mild hike/walk through the woods. Doing the full loop comes out to about 2 miles but there's a lot of opportunities to shorten it if you wanted something less. For being so close to the city, it's pretty quiet and wooded. There were a few spots with a river that were pretty and a small pond. Inside the center is some fun interactive stuff for kids and a few animals.

I have driven and walked by this area of Englewood and Englewood Cliffs many times for years and I never realized that this nature preserve existed until recently. I finally had time to explore and hike through hear for just an hour. However I loved it. I can't believe there is such a nice well preserved nature preserve and hiking trails right in the middle of this area of Bergen County, full of houses surrounding this place. However while you are in the nature preserve, you don't realize how close to civilization you are until you are about to leave. I want to come back many times again to explore this place more.
